When was the track built?
The building date is not official but it has been used at least since the 1970s.
The tarmac circuit ceased use and the venue was turned over to off-road motorcycle racing.
The paddock and box area, together with the main straight up to turn 2 has been modernized and saved, while the rest of the circuit is a completely new design, done by me, and it covers the previous lot, removing the dirt track, and a new part through the park.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It will alternate with the Laurence Allen circuit to host the Zambia GP. It will be the first ever F1 event in the country.
What’s the circuit like?
The 21 turns ultra-modern design is a mix of technical corners, both slow and fast, and straights of different lengths, which guarantee various overtake opportunities.
Extremely challenging for drivers due to the amount of turns and gear changes and for engineers as well to find the perfect set-up.
Where is it located?
The circuit is around 10 km north-west of the Ndola city centre in Zambia, well served by its airport (- 12°58’54”, + 28°34’18”)
