Kigaliring – Kigali

Circuit: Fictitious
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2020 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

An emerging tech hub and touristic destination, with a well-connected capital city despite a small and hilly territory,  Rwanda is the strongest African candidate to host a race for both the World and the Continental Series.
The racetrack, designed by me, will be located in an area just outside Kigali, and will have state-of-the-art facilities, a direct connection to the airport, as the project will also redevelop a marshy area.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever race held in Rwanda, as this will be the maiden permanent motorsport circuit.

What’s the circuit like?

Conceptually inspired by the original old version of the German circuit Hockenheim, it has two super-fast sectors with long straights and tight heavy braking curves, including a banked parabolic lasting nearly a kilometer; it will be almost entirely full-throttle up to Turn 6.
Particularly exciting the triple high-speed change of direction between Turn 6 and Turn 8.
The final sector, instead, offers seven slow corners in rapid sequence, where traction and precision in approaching each turn will be critical, and makes this track very complete, challenging and entertaining to drive.

Where is it located?

In the Southeast suburbs of the capital of Rwanda, less than 5 kilometers from the International airport (2°00’12.9″S, 30°10’00.6″E)
