Oyster Bay Circuit – Dar Es Salaam

Circuit: Fictitious
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2020 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

Dar Es Salaam, with its wide streets passing by the financial area which overlook the Oyster Bay and its industrious port, had a great opportunity to host a F1 GP as soon as the new Organization has been announced, thanks also to favourable financial circumstances.
The layout, designed by me, offers a mix of the modern street courses surroundings with the tight, unique and difficult corners of the old-school ones.
The pit facilities will be permanent while the circuit uses only public roads.

When was its first Grand Prix?

The streets of Dar Es Salaam will host the first ever Tanzania F1 Grand Prix, for both Continental and World Titles.

What’s the circuit like?

It has a unique short main straight, due to the location of the pits, but it offers three overtaking spots at Turn 14, 18 and 21, the last corner that comes after a nearly 1km long straight.
As most of the street tracks it has a number if 90° corners, although as it winds through the streets of the capital of Tanzania, it offers four bits with one-of-a-kind shapes and lines to follow which makes it challenging, unpredictable and insidious.
Not making any mistake during the 57 laps will be extremely testing for drivers especially as the weather may offer both high temperatures and heavy showers.

Where is it located?

In the Gerezani area of the Tanzania capital, in the heart of the financial district, looking at Oyster Bay (6°49’14.2″S; 39°17’13.7″E).
