Utonde Circuit – Bata

When was the track built?

Equatorial Guinea has been one of the last countries to register their interest in hosting a F1 GP in the new organization.
A suitable location, where appropriate works have been carried out to preserve the forest around the circuit has been identified outside the city of Bata.
The circuit has been designed following the all latest standards by me and it can be completed by 2023.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It is the first ever permanent racetrack of Equatorial Guinea and it will be ready in 2023 to host the Continental Title.

What’s the circuit like?

The concept of this track is based on a long flow of fast corners, which is particularly true in sectors 2 and 3.
Extremely challenging for both drivers and engineers to find the right lines and set-up they don’t seem to offer many opportunities for overtakes.
That is why sector 1 has been designed with three long and wide straights and heavy breaking zones, while the first corners will provide occasions for attacks and counters.

Where is it located?

Just outside the Bata city centre, 5km from the airport and from the Atlantic Ocean coast (1°56’01.6″N; 9°50’18.8″E)
