When was the track built?
The city of Libreville offered its economical and political centre to host a F1 race when the new organization will go live.
In the designated area, I have designed the circuit that passes by the Assemblée Nationale, the Gabon TV, embassies and other political buildings using a big part of the most important street Boulevard Triomphal.
Pit and paddock facilities will be permanent while all stands will be built ad-hoc for the race.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It is the first ever racetrack built in Gabon and it will be ready in 2023 to host the Continental Title.
What’s the circuit like?
Sector 1 has the typical street circuit features, with 90° turns connected by straights, but with very wide streets.
The second part of the track uses the main Boulevards to create a mix of chicanes and faster corners leading to the final sector made of two long straights that will generate many duels thanks to their span.
All in all it is a good balanced track even if it’s a city one.
Where is it located?
In the heart of the capital of Gabon, using part of the N1 and Boulevard Triomphal, facing the coast of the Gabon estuary (0°24’24.8″N; 9°26’20.8″E)
