Ain Diab Street Circuit – Casablanca

Circuit: Fictitious

When was the track built?

Ain Diab hosted the only F1 GP ever in Morocco in 1958, on the 7.6km long road course between Boulevard Atlantique and the R320 motorway.
The new street circuit, designed by me, uses a part of the Boulevard on the coast plus other roads of the city, but features a permanent pit building, while all stands will be built ad-hoc.
Another perfect way, together with Agadir track, to celebrate Morocco motorsport heritage with a modern circuit.

When was its first Grand Prix?

The return of Morocco in F1 will begin in 2023; this new track will alternate with the other two for the country to host Continental and World title races.

What’s the circuit like?

The three sectors offer a great mix for this 4km track: the first one is made of two large straights and heavy breaking turns.
Sector 2 is a more typical street circuit one, with multiple 90° corners and less overtake opportunities, which leads to the final sector characterized by a 1km long straight and the marvelous turn 13, uphill, giving a severe challenge to right tyres.
It has many features that you normally don’t see in a city racetrack and thanks to its location will surely become a classic.

Where is it located?

In the Ain Diab quartier of Casablanca on the Ocean coast, very close to the Anfa airport (+ 33°34’43”, – 7°41’18”)
