When was the track built?

The circuit was designed in the early 1950s, thanks to three local motorsport enthusiasts, with the support of the Hong Kong Motor Sports Club and later of the Macau authorities.
The layout has basically stayed the same since the first race in 1954 and it is particularly famous for TT, WTCC and F3 races.
New and improved facilities for media and paddock have been added over the last years.

When was its first Grand Prix?

One of the seven Chinese circuits that will rotate in both the Continental and World F1 series, it has never hosted a Grand Prix.

What’s the circuit like?

The circuit is characterized by 4 long straights from turn 23 to turn 3, with wide roads that allow normally duels and overtakes.
Then a long sequence of twists and turns, and many elevation changes lead back to the straight section.
On the hill part, overtakes will be very difficult, while the smallest mistake will be punished with a DNF.

Where is it located?

On the south-eastern coast of China, bordering Guangdong Province, served by its own International airport (+ 22°11’55”, +113°33’16”)
