When was the track built?
One of the latest Chinese circuits, penned by Apex Circuit Design in England, it features various layouts and a FIA compliant kart circuit.
Adjacent to the start/finish straight sits the Motorsport Hub, a state-of-the art hospitality facility that will act as home base for visitors to Zhejiang Circuit.
Surrounding the circuit is more than 100,000 square meters of motorsport-focused leisure and commercial development.
It has opened in 2016.
When was its first Grand Prix?
One of the seven Chinese circuits that will rotate in both the Continental and World F1 series, it has never hosted a Grand Prix.
What’s the circuit like?
The layout used for F1 will be the 3.2km main circuit, featuring 16 turns and some intriguing elevation changes thrown in for good measure.
It has a tough sequence of 12 turns that gives no rest to drivers, which is then followed by a straight section, including two high-speed corners.
The last curve is surely candidate to be the main overtake spot.
Also interesting the pit lane, going under the main straight.
Where is it located? In the Keyan area of Shaoxing, south of Hangzhou in the commercial heartland of Zhejiang Province. (30°01’55.3″N; 120°28’02.9″E)
