Zhuhai International Circuit – Zhuhai

Circuit: Existing
Layout: Actual

When was the track built?

It was the first permanent motor racing facility in China and since it opening in 1996 it has hosted both local and international races.
Following the success of street races in the city, it was clear that a permanent venue would have guaranteed a big success of public.
The design is by the Australian company Kinhill Engineers Pty Ltd.

When was its first Grand Prix?

One of the seven Chinese circuits that will rotate in both the Continental and World F1 series, it has never hosted a Grand Prix.

What’s the circuit like?

It is quite a simple layout, a stop-and-go circuit characterized by straights and heavy breaking zones, that will test severely brakes but also offer multiple overtake spots.
Surely engineers will opt for a low downforce set-up, which will make races around here even more challenging for drivers.

Where is it located?

In the north of Zhuhai City, on the southern coast of Guangdong province, close to both Macau and Hong Kong (+ 22°22’02”, +113°33’27”)
