Ubpark Circuit – Ulaanbaatar

Circuit: Fictitious

When was the track built?

Thanks to the new organization, with more calendar slots and more revenues for circuit holders, Ulaanbaatar will also be able to host a Formula 1 Grand Prix, starting from 2023.
A big area just outside the city centre, in Ubpark, was selected and I have designed a modern and extreme circuit, that will be ready for the 2023 Continental title.
An office/hotel for F1 staff and media will be available near the paddock.

When was its first Grand Prix?

The new circuit will be ready for the new F1 in 2023 and will host the first ever GP in the country.

What’s the circuit like?

Although never fully straight, it is ultra-fast at least for two thirds of its length, with a particular design that allows all stands to hug the tarmac offering great views from everywhere.
After the main straight and the first two heavy braking zones there is sequence of slight bends leading to the parabolic T11 and the best overtaking spot at T12.
After the hairpin at 14, the circuit becomes more technical with other 8 changes of direction, including a tight and sharp final corner, where a late lunge is possible. Particularly tricky the double apex T18-19.

Where is it located?

In the South-eastern area of the city, in Ubpark close to the Gandantegchinlen Khiid Monastery, around 25km from the airport. (47°53’50.7″N, 106°58’36.6″E)
