When was the track built?

The Russian Automobile Federation commissioned to Apex Circuit Design the Primring complex, made of a 3.7 km circuit, a kart circuit, a motocross one and a drag strip.
Design was completed in 2011 and phase one of the works was completed in 2013.
Phase two it is ongoing and it will include the main race circuit, the drag strip and further commercial and leisure development.
A new boost has been received thanks to the new Formula 1 organization.

When was its first Grand Prix?

Russia has 2 places in the Continental and 1 in the World series; this is one of the eight circuits that will rotate for those spots.
It will be the first ever GP on this venue.

What’s the circuit like?

The counterclockwise circuit is characterized by its wide and fast spoon-like hairpins and by looking at the design it can be seen that the biggest factor to win on this track will be car balance in fast corners.
There are anyway at least three clear overtake spots with sharp turns 1, 7 and 12 that will provide entertainment.
Lap times expected to be below the minute mark.

Where is it located?

In Artyom, in the region of Primorsky Krai, few kilometers north of Vladivostok, served by its airports and close also to the Uglovoye one. (+ 43°21’31”, +132°05’13”)
