When was the track built?
The 120 hectares of land on which the construction of the Siberian Ring was planned were assigned by the City Council at the beginning of the century.
The project of a Formula 1 track was assigned to the German bureau Tilke GmbH; with design and works started in 2014. Unfortunately, the developer managed to equip only one track before abandoning the project due to debts.
The complex is designed to host motorsport, municipal and touristic facilities.
Thanks to the new Formula 1 organization, the project gained new momentum and it has now restarted and set to be completed in 2023.
When was its first Grand Prix?
Russia has 2 places in the Continental and 1 in the World series; this is one of the eight circuits that will rotate for those spots.
It will be the first ever GP on this venue.
What’s the circuit like?
The circuit can be split in two parts: sector 1 and 2, mainly rectilinear with plenty of overtake spots, where the back straight is nearly 1km long.

It will be interesting to see different set-ups chosen to have top speed against more stability and precision.
Where is it located?
In Novosibirsk, in the southwestern part of Siberia on the banks of the Ob River, close to the borders with Kazakhstan and Mongolia; the International airport is half-an-hour away. (+ 55°00’08”, + 83°02’40”)
