St. David’s Island Circuit – Bermuda

When was the track built?

When the F1 Caribbean Series was announced, most of the countries in the area did not have a proper circuit to insert in the calendar.
Bermuda had the Bermuda Motorsports Park, a small motor racing circuit located in St. David’s Island used mainly for karting and motorbikes.
The extended circuit, designed by me, will go over the old one and will be semi-permanent, with the section from turn 7 to turn 1 and the pit buildings always available, while the other part uses roads of the airfield, that will be partially closed for the two days F1 event.

When was its first Grand Prix?

The new circuit will be ready for the new F1 in 2023 and will host the first ever GP in the country.

What’s the circuit like?

The old-style track, that uses airport roads giving the retro feeling, has a stop-and-go first section up to turn 6, where overtaking will be easy in the braking zones and thanks to the very wide pavement.
The final sector, instead, is where drivers can make the difference in terms of lap time, with slow and sharp curves leading to the final corner that reminds of the Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.
The amazing location will contribute in making it an event that drivers will look for.

Where is it located?

At the eastern end of L.F. Wade International Airport, Bermuda’s only airfield. (32°21’33.3″N; 64°39’45.3″W)
