When was the track built?

In 2010 a second project aiming at bringing Formula 1 in Greece was launched, as part of a wider infrastructure development of the north of Peloponnese region.
Despite being a much less expensive investment compared to the other one in the Piraeus, the permanent circuit of Chalandritsa also never saw the light due to the financial crisis of the country.
It is now revamped and thanks to the better profitability of the new F1 organization, it will be completed to host all major motorsport events, including motorbikes racing.

When was its first Grand Prix?

The new circuit will be ready for the new F1 in 2023; it will rotate with Piraeus to host the Greek GP.

What’s the circuit like?

Designed to be suitable for both MotoGP and Formula One, it has a combination of sharp corners and long mid-speed ones.
High average speeds are projected. Turn 1 and 6 will surely be the best overtaking spots
The design is quite simple, but that doesn’t take anything off its challenges; tyre management will be a factor.

Where is it located?

Just outside Chalandritsa, a city 20km south of Patras, in the northern Peloponnese; it is served by Araxos airport.  (+ 38°05’01”, + 21°46’46”)
