Circuit Goodyear – Colmar-Berg

Circuit: Existing
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2021 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

Owned by tyre company Goodyear, it has been used in the past mainly as a test circuit, although it has hosted some Touring Car and motorbike racing, as well.
Since Luxembourg will also get a spot in the calendar in the new F1 Organization, this track became the best option to build a permanent FIA Grade-1 venue.
The layout has been redesigned completely by me after turn 1, even if some sections are taken from the original one.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever GP in this country.
It will rotate with Scotland for the 12th spot of the European Continental Series.

What’s the circuit like?

Inspired by the original Omega track and by the old Zandvoort, after the long main straight it offers a sequence of turns that will leave drivers no time to breathe until they finally reach the hairpin at T13.
The Omega T7 has been banked slightly.
Very interesting is the long parabolic T15 that will put left tyres under severe pressure, having also an increased banking compared to the former one.
Due to the massive difference in tyre degradation between the two sides, car set-up will be tricky.

Where is it located?

In Colmar-Berg, an industrial area 20km north of Luxembourg City and its airport. (49.801337, 6.102969)
