Mondello Park – Naas

Circuit: Existing
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2021 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

Until 2023 it will be Ireland’s first and only permanent motor racing circuit, carrying an amazing heritage for both 2 and 4-wheel racing.
Built in 1968 and extended the following year, it was named after Mondello, a suburb of the Italian city Palermo, where the Targa Florio took place.
A new layout increase was completed in 1998 in order to attract international events, but it will be the new design, made by me, that will finally bring Formula One here, from 2023.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever GP in this country.
It will rotate with Fairy Castle circuit in the European Continental Series.

What’s the circuit like?

The new layout clearly and voluntarily retrace the famous previous one, with extended length, improved safety and increased challenges for drivers.
After a fast first sector, characterized by the unique main stand, the middle one has three hairpins leading to the “arm” section, very similar to the old one but moved to the right to allow the main straight being long enough for F1.

Where is it located?

Just outside the town of Naas, around 40 km west of Dublin and its airport. (+ 53°15’27”, – 6°44’49”)
