When was the track built?

The project started in 2017, aiming at building a permanent circuit reclaiming a disused clay pits area.
Groundworks started the following year and it was already in the provisional calendar of the 2019 World Superbike season, but some difficulties in completing the excavation works stalled and the stopped the construction.
With the new Formula 1 organization, being more profitable for investors to own circuits, it has been boosted again, adding a second-phase, including a hotel, retail and business units together with a range of community and leisure facilities.
It will also get approval to host a F1 GP, from 2023.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever GP in this country.
It will rotate with Bishopscourt in the European Continental Series.

What’s the circuit like?

Designed incorporating the existing undulating landscape, with a ~30 metres elevation, it has two straights long enough for side-to-side action and a good mix of corners, despite being a relatively short course (3.6 km).
Wider-radius and faster in the first sector, slower and tighter in the last one, with a particularly tricky final chicane.

Where is it located?

In Coalisland, County Tyrone, just south of Dungannon and around 45 minutes from Belfast airport. (+ 54°32’09”, – 6°42’25”)
