When was the track built?

Opened in 1948, it is one of the most famous circuits in the world, and it has hosted the first ever F1 World-titled race.
Developed from its windswept airfield, it has been modified and upgraded several time through the year until its final layout was designed by Tilke in 2010.
It comes with no surprise that it will lead the English circuits in the permanent F1 database.

When was its first Grand Prix?

In 1950, the first World Championship Formula One race, with a full Alfa Romeo podium; Farina, also polesitter, the winner, followed by Fagioli and Parnell.
It’s one of the seven circuits to rotate for two spots in the European Continental Series and one in the World Title F1.

What’s the circuit like?

Even after the new design it remains as a fast racetrack, with many iconic turns where now cars go almost flat out.
Side-to-side action is possible almost everywhere as it is a circuit that excites both drivers and fans.
Tyre management has been an issue in recent years.

Where is it located?

In central England, approximately an hour and a half north of central London, and in proximity of Birmingham too, well served by various airports. (+ 52°04’20”, – 1°00’50”)
