When was the track built?
Open in 2009 as the first sustainable racetrack and aiming at being one of the longest in the world, it is composed by two main circuits, able to provide six different variants.
The longest one, still under construction, will be the one used by the new F1 organization, although the main scope of the designer, social and environmental entrepreneur Alec Arho Havrén, is corporate edutainment and testing.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It will be the first ever race on this circuit.
It will rotate with other four circuits in this country for a spot in the F1 European Series.
What’s the circuit like?
Built on a former limestone quarry, it has kept all the geological features of the area, so elevation changes are constant.
A 7.3 km track, with more than 30 corners, it has been designed trying to be complete, technical, challenging and entertaining, with a mix of rhythmic fast-flowing aero-corners, blind crests, a slingshot carousel and several high-speed sectors.
Where is it located?
On the Gotland Island, the largest of Sweden, around 40km north of Visby airport, connected to the main Swedish ones. (+ 57°50’04”, + 18°50’01”)
