Heden Street Circuit – Göteborg

When was the track built?

After having already tried in the late 80s, with a project submitted to the FOCA and FISA in 1984, the Swedish Capital will finally bring the top motorsport series to its streets, thanks to a new circuit, designed by me, in the Heden quartier from 2023.
All facilities will be temporary built in the same way as in Montecarlo.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever race on this circuit.
It will rotate with other four circuits in this country for a spot in the F1 European Series.

What’s the circuit like?

It is a varying street course, benefiting from some of the extremely wide roads and from the amazing sceneries of the Swedish capital.
It has a great mix of corners and some twisty sections like many city circuits, but it offers also several overtaking spots and high-speed bits, like the motorway section coming after the downhill hairpin, or the three consecutive straights in the final sector.
Also notable the ultra-fast chicane at T12-13 passing near the Ullevi Stadium.
Chicanes, fast bends, tunnels, bridges, large straights, this track has them all leaving no room for mistakes as barriers are very close everywhere.

Where is it located?

Through the streets of Heden and Garda quartiers in Göteborg, around the new Ullevi Stadium. (+ 57°42’15”, + 11°58’56”).
