Botniaring – Jurva

Circuit: Existing
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2021 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

Built in 1989, it has hosted basically only local events, despite the extension in 2013, which transformed it into Finland’s longest and fastest raceway.
It wasn’t enough for Formula 1 though, but thanks to the new layout and facilities refurbishment, designed by me, it will become part of the F1 circuit database.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever race on this circuit.
It will rotate with other three circuits in this country for a spot in the F1 European Series.

What’s the circuit like?

The external ring up to turn 7 has been kept, while the old infield will be skipped to create space for improved facilities and safety escapes.
It will lead to the new extension with the back straight, the final hairpin and the lengthened main straight.
Fast, with plenty of overtaking chances and high-speed turns, this new configuration is set to be entertaining.

Where is it located?

In Jurva, near to the city of Kurikka, in western Finland; Vaasa airport, connected to the main Finnish ones, is around 45 minutes away. (+ 62°37’32”, + 22°01’13”).
