When was the track built?
It is expected to be completed in 2021, after a 15 years development phase, from design to construction.
Drawn by Apex Circuit Design as a complex including also a separate kart track and off-road course (with a rally course also planned), mainly for MotoGP, thanks to the new F1 philosophy will also be added to the circuit database.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It will be the first ever race on this circuit.
It will rotate with other three circuits in this country for a spot in the F1 European Series.
What’s the circuit like?
Design around the existing landscape, it took advantage of the shape of the undulating terrain, with an 18-metre difference in height between the highest and lowest points.
Some bends have a camber at different points of the track with a maximum of 10%; it will help adjacent driving and overtaking possibilities, by giving more grip.
The hard braking zone at the end of the long back straight is surely the best spot for wheel-to-wheel action.
Where is it located?
In Tillola, few kilometres west of Kouvola; Helsinki’s Vaanta International airport is around ninety minutes away. (60°52’46.9″N; 26°28’51.0″E)
