When was the track built?
Opened in 1997, due to its location it has often been overlooked by major motorsport events, even if it is quite popular for motorcycle testing.
It has good safety standards, improved in 2014 with new kerbs, and an interesting layout which will guarantee a place in the new Formula One circuit database.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It will be the first ever race on this circuit and it will rotate with other two for the national spot in the F1 European Series calendar.
What’s the circuit like?
It has an interesting and challenging twisty layout, with also few sport for overtaking.
Traction and acceleration will be crucial here to succeed.
New stands and some improvements in the pit and paddock facilities will be completed to host the first Formula One GP.
Where is it located?
In the village of Ostffyasszonyfa, in western Hungary, close to the border with Austria; with Budapest around 200km to the East, the closest cities and airports are Vienna, Bratislava and Graz. (+ 47°18’21”, + 17°02’55”)
