When was the track built?
It was opened in 1977 and the layout has never been changed since.
It has been used mainly for national events, but it is ready for major competitions; in order to do that, there will be an improvement of run-off areas, a complete resurface and refurbishment of the pit buildings, ready to be inserted in the new Formula One circuit database from 2023.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It will be the first race ever on this circuit.
It will rotate with other three circuits for the Polish spot in the F1 European Series calendar.
What’s the circuit like?
The circuit can be divided into two main parts: after turn 13 and to turn 3 there are the three main straights and the best overtaking spots.
The middle section is a nice flow of average-speed corners, where getting in the right rhythm will be crucial for drivers.
Lap times are projected to be around the one minute mark.
Where is it located?
In the western outskirts of the city of Poznań, close to the local airport. (+ 52°25’00”, + 16°48’16”)
