MotorPark Romania – Adâncata

Circuit: Existing
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2021 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

The first ever permanent track in the country, was inaugurated in 2014, and extended to the 4.1km version the following year.
It has been used for local races only, but thanks to the new Formula 1 organization announcement, it will be included in the database from 2023.
The circuit will need to be widened and made safer, installing new TecPro barriers and extended runoff areas.
Some adjustments to the layout, made by me, and the pit building refurbishment will make it suitable to host a F1 event.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever Formula 1 race on this racetrack.
It will rotate with the new Bucharest Ring for the Romanian spot in the F1 European Series calendar.

What’s the circuit like?

Like many of the “short” racetracks, it requires more focus on consistency in lap times and good qualifying performance, as overtaking will be tricky, even with the newly designed turn 1, 6 and 9.
It remains a simple layout, with mid-speed corners, with set-ups similar to the Hungaroring.
In the final part of the year, weather could be unpredictable and be a factor as well.

Where is it located?

In Adâncata, around 60km north of Bucharest and its airport. (44°46’46.4″N 26°28’19.9″E)
