When was the track built?
Opened in 2018, with first races started the following year, it is the first permanent motorsport venue in the country.
The circuit, included in the phase 1 of the development, is part of a mega-complex featuring facilities for drag racing, karting, motocross, rally and dune racing, which are also surrounded by various entertainment and leisure venues.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It will be the first ever GP in this country.
It will have a secured spot in the F1 Middle East Continental Series.
What’s the circuit like?
The Grade-1 racetrack is quite a “typical Tilke style”, with a long sequence of sharp and generally fast corners on one end and long and wide straights on the other, trying to maximize the driver feel, the spectators view and wheel-to-wheel action.
It was expected to host Formula 1 as soon as the whole project was completed, but thanks to the new Organization, it will start already in 2023.
Where is it located?
At Arifjan, 52 km south of Kuwait City and around half an hour from its International airport. (28°55’57.2″N 48°08’37.2″E)
