When was the track built?

After several failed attempts to bring Formula 1 to Manhattan and New York City, an opportunity for building a complex near the Big Apple came up in 2017 when the dismissed plot of the former Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant in Calverton became available for a FIA Grade-1 racetrack and a solar farm.
The new complex, designed by me, can be ready for the debut of the new organization in 2023 and will also feature a tri-oval, a drag strip and a karting circuit, in an exclusive location near the Hamptons.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever race in this venue.
It is one of the eight circuits in the Eastern area of the United States, which will rotate for three spots in the Continental Series.

What’s the circuit like?

It is a very particular layout, with two extremely fast sections outside the oval, featuring also two of the best overtaking spots.
The one inside is a bit more challenging and provide great views to the fans in a stadium-like environment.
Challenges are not limited to the road course, as F1 cars will also use one of the three banked corners, making set-ups even more complicated for engineers; tyre management needs also to be included in the list of tricky matters.

Where is it located?

In the area formerly occupied by the Calverton airport, around 120km East of Manhattan and 100km from the JFK International airport. (40.915212, -72.788835)
