When was the track built?
The Solomon Islands are one of the seven countries that will be able to host a Grand Prix in the new Oceania series.
The circuit, designed by me, will be completely carbon neutral, respecting the natural environment in which it’s built and will deliver zero impact events; it will also help the country to attract other motorsport series, social and sport events.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It will be the first race ever on this circuit, which has the 7th spot of the Oceania Continental Series calendar.
What’s the circuit like?
The 1km long main straight will provide lot of action, and it’s followed by a fast section with a long sweeping downhill hairpin and a tighter uphill one.
The final section is more technical and the triple-corner sequence, where different trajectories are possible to prepare the main straight, can provide also last-second drama.
Even if racing is scheduled in the driest season, weather could be unpredictable, with temperature and humidity that should be a factor as well.
Where is it located?
Around 20km East from the city centre and 10 from the International airport, on the biggest of the nearly one thousand islands that are part of the country. (-9.455270, 160.094594)
