When was the track built?

Opened in 2008, it has caught International attention in 2012 after the infield extension designed by Jarno Zaffelli, which enabled the permanent arrival of MotoGP.
Thanks to its consideration it will be part of the Formula One Circuit Database of the new era from 2023.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever Formula 1 GP in this venue.
It is one of the eight Argentinian circuits in the database that will rotate for three spots in the Continental Series and one in the World Title.

What’s the circuit like?

Designed particularly for motorbikes, it offers many interesting section for cars as well, spiced up by elevation changes which make braking zones even more challenging, particularly after Turn 10-11 leading to the final corners.
Majority of curves have wide radiuses, and Formula One cars will opt for mid-low downforce set-ups, to exploit also the top speed in the long back straight.

Where is it located?

In the eastern outskirts of Termas de Río Hondo, in the province of Santiago del Esteros, in the Northwest part of Argentina; it is served by a local airport, just outside the circuit gates, while Santiago’s one is around 70km to the south. (- 27°30’23”, – 64°54’39”)
