Autódromo Municipal Juan Manuel Fangio – Rosario

Circuit: Existing
Layout: Actual

When was the track built?

Inaugurated in 1982, after two decades of debates before launching its construction, it was a 1.3km small ring which was extended a decade later to a 2.5km course, used mainly for Touring Car series.
After a period of decline, it has been renewed and further extended to its final version that has been deemed good enough to be included in the Circuit Database for the new Formula One South American Series from 2023.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever Formula 1 GP in this venue.
It is one of the eight Argentinian circuits in the database that will rotate for three spots in the Continental Series and one in the World Title.

What’s the circuit like?

A short, twisty layout, where overtaking will come at a premium and having the best race pace will be pivotal to succeed.
The long straight after the finishing line leading to Turn 2 is the best chance for a lunge.
Traction and precision in slow corners is what the engineers will look to maximize in the cars.

Where is it located?

At Rosario, in Santa Fe Province, in central Argentina, around 300km North West of Buenos Aires. The local International airport is just 5km away from the track. (-32.904299, -60.744328)
