When was the track built?
Opened in 1980, it was a 2.5km carousel that mainly hosted regional races.
In 2007 it went through a massive extension that allowed to host national events and brought it to a wider attention.
Thanks to that and to a layout enhancement and facilities upgrade, designed by me, wit a new final section, it will be included in the new Formula One Circuit Database from 2023.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It will be the first ever Formula 1 GP in this venue.
It is one of the eight Argentinian circuits in the database that will rotate for three spots in the Continental Series and one in the World Title.
What’s the circuit like?
The original concept of four parallel straights connected by 180° corners has been refined, with more technical sections, starting from the snaking one from Turn 2 to Turn 8.
All corners angles have been sharpened to improve overtaking opportunities and safety standards, with particular attention to the final infield.
High-average speeds, low-downforce set-ups and massive fans participation will contribute to make it an exciting appointment.
Where is it located?
In the Southern part of the city of Posadas in north-eastern Argentina; the city airport is connected to Buenos Aires. Paraguay’s capital Asunción is 350km north. (- 27°26’17”, – 55°55’39”)
