Autódromo Internacional de Santa Cruz do Sul – Santa Cruz do Sul

Circuit: Existing
Layout: Actual

When was the track built?

Opened in 2005, it has suffered the competition of all other venues in the country, and it never reached International appeal.
Thanks to the new Organization, with minor safety upgrades, it will become one of the Brazilian circuit to host a Formula One Grand Prix from 2023.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first Formula 1 GP in this venue.
It is one of the seven Brazilian circuits that will rotate to host the final three rounds of the South American Series and the first round of the World Championship.

What’s the circuit like?

It has a fast and flowing layout, with a long main straight and three good overtaking spots, including Turn 1, 5 and 7.
It also features gentle elevations changes, blind crests and cambered curves which contribute to make it technical.
Weather shouldn’t be as much of a factor here as in other regions of Brazil, but due to track length, there will be a though selection in qualifying as the number of admitted cars in the race is smaller than most of FIA Grade-1 circuits.

Where is it located?

In the São José da Reserva district, around 10km South of Santa Cruz do Sul and 170km West of Porto Alegre and its International airport. (- 29°47’53”, – 52°26’10”)
