Mobitrack 2 – Ljubljana

Circuit: Fictitious
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2021 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

Plans to build the first ever permanent track in the country, named Mobitrack, started in 1999, in an area facing the Golf Klub Barje, to be used mainly for Touring Cars.
The project has never been developed, although there are traces of local races in the parking lot that was created in the area of the project.
Thanks to the new F1 organization, a more suitable space close to the one of the original project will be allocated to a new permanent track, designed by me, surrounded by beautiful forest, that will bring major motorsport competitions, including Formula One, to Slovenia.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever race in this country.
It will rotate with Bulgaria for the 26th spot in the F1 European Series calendar.

What’s the circuit like?

A fast-flowing racetrack, with long sweeping corners that makes it suitable for all 2 and 4-wheels races.
At high average speeds, corners come to drivers at incessant rhythm for the whole duration of the lap.
Particularly interesting the tight hairpin at Turn 5, which is also one of the at least three overtaking spots.
This circuit will suit well-balanced cars and aggressive drivers.

Where is it located?

Five kilometres south of the city centre, and around 35 from the airport. (46°01’01.5″N; 14°28’17.6″E)
