Autódromo de Salto Automóvil Club – Salto

Circuit: Existing
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2022 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

It is not clear when it was opened; until today it has been a small club circuit, used mainly for local events.
The location, however, has been chosen by the new Formula One Organization to build the third and final venue in the country; a multi-layout 4.5km FIA-Grade 1 circuit, designed by me, will be completed in time to be added to the Database, bringing Formula 1 to the heart of South America.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever Formula 1 GP in this venue.
It is one of the three Uruguayan circuits in the database that will rotate for the second spot in the Continental Series.

What’s the circuit like?

A modern layout, with fast first and last sectors, characterized by long straight with overtaking opportunities, interposed with a curvilinear middle section, where the long parabolic Turn 5 stands out.
Depending on the car overall ability to generate downforce, we’ll see mid to low wing profiles; light but constant elevation changes are another factor for making this track challenging and spectacular.

Where is it located?

In Salto, around 500km North West of Montevideo, on the east bank of the Río Uruguay across from the Argentinian city of Concordia, connected by  Salto Grande Bridge. The local airport is connected to the capital. (- 31°24’56”, – 57°57’31”)
