Circuito Internacional Los Parisi – Maracaibo

Circuit: Existing
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2022 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

The exact opening date is uncertain; it has been used mainly for local drag racing, despite a re-pavement in early 2010s which failed in giving it new life.
The main layout, designed by me, will be slightly changed to make it suitable for the most powerful cars with the addition of a significant improvement of the facilities and safety standards; thanks to that the new Formula One Organization will include it in the Circuit Database to host a GP from 2023.
It will also feature a 3.3km short layout.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever Formula 1 GP in this country.
It is one of the two circuits in the country that will rotate for the seventeenth spot in the calendar of the South American Continental Series.

What’s the circuit like?

The layout is faithful to the original, with significant amendments only to sector 3, where Turn 11 has been made wider and faster, making the run to the new final chicane an additional overtaking spot.
The 1km long main straight leads to a sharpened Turn 1, where drivers will be subject to high G-force deceleration.
The central section is part of the existing circuit, with small changes to the corner angles of Turn 5 and 6, and it features mid-speed bends. Set-ups will be oriented to mid-low downforce.
High temperatures and humidity will make this appointment even more challenging for racers and cars.

Where is it located?

In the Southern outskirts of Maracaibo, in Northern Venezuela, close to the border with Colombia; it is served by the local International airport, which is just 20km away.
The capital Caracas in 700km to the East. (+ 10°29’46”, – 71°45’00)
