Seretse Khama Circuit – Gaborone

Circuit: Fictitious
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2020 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

With one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, a great cultural and natural diversity, despite its only 2.3 millions inhabitants, Botswana secured a spot in the new Formula One Organization with one of the biggest permanent newly constructed circuits, designed by me, in the Continent, that will bring Formula One and other major motorsport series starting from 2023.
Its shape provides a stadium-feeling at each corner, giving fans great views from every seat.

When was its first Grand Prix?

The race in the new F1 in 2023 will be the first ever in the country, with a secured spot in the African Continental series.

What’s the circuit like?

It’s characterized by the lack of pure straights, although it is one of the fastest new circuits designed by me, with two long parabolic curves followed by tight braking zones.
Even if it is a stop-and-start one, with several overtaking opportunities, it has a flowy layout, enjoyable but technical to drive.
Engines will be at full-throttle for most of the lap time but cars will require also good balance in high-speed turns.

Where is it located?

This state-of-the-art circuit is located in the west side of Gaborone, capital of Botswana, served by international airport (-24.673889, 25.851306)
