When was the track built?
It has been opened in 1977 and it’s the most important circuit in the country, although it’s not permanent.
The complex, which includes administrative buildings, a motel and camp site for caravans and tents, has been used mainly for local racing and test driving experiences.
With a complete refurbishment of the pit buildings and the “loop” area, it will be ready to host Formula 1 from 2023.
When was its first Grand Prix?
It will be the first race ever on this circuit.
It will rotate with other three circuits for the Polish spot in the F1 European Series calendar.
What’s the circuit like?
Three quarters of the loop are used as start/finishing sections, but the most characteristic part is surely the fast series of sweeping uphill curves on the National Road 74.
Turn 5 leads back on the permanent downhill section, which may remind of legendary old-style circuits, gives no room for mistakes to drivers, despite being still a high-speed sector.
Where is it located?
In Miedziana Góra, one of the northern outskirts of Kielce; Warsaw’s airport is just less than 200km away. (+ 50°57’38”, + 20°32’23”)
