Circuit: Existing
Layout: Fictitious (designed by me) – © 2022 AllAlongTheRacetrack

When was the track built?

Opened in 1963, in its brief lifetime was one of the premier road racing tracks in the United States and it has hosted several major National events.
It was closed few years later due to pavement problems and little revenue caused also by poor spectator access and a lack of sufficient seating.
A project for bringing it back to life has been launched, thanks to the estimated incomes made possible by the new F1 Organization and a new track, designed by me, expected to be ready in 2023.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It will be the first ever race in this venue.
It is one of the eight circuits in the Central area of the United States, which will rotate for three spots in the Continental Series.

What’s the circuit like?

Famous for its elevation changes (nearly 100m!), with a steep downhill between Turns 1 and 3 and a big climb in the forest after turn 4, it follows many traits of the original layout, with modern features and safety standards, especially in the first two sectors, except Turns 1 and 8, which are much more emphasized and sharper.
From Turn 11 the design is completely new but in line with the circuit concept and flow.
It’s a high-speed course, with several overtaking spots; engine power and aerodynamic efficiency are the keys.

Where is it located?

Few kilometres south of Indianola, and around 70km south of Des Moines and its International airport, in the southern part of Iowa. (+ 41°15’02”, – 93°29’36”)
